This system is used to give credit to those who refer you to the game. In the future the ones being referred will also gain some form of benefit, still not sure what, though. You can only have one referrer, whichever way you do it.
There are two systems by which you can give and receive referral credit:

To Create:
Simply login to AirMech, click the Social tab and navigate to Referrals. Click the Copy Referral Link and send this hyperlink code to friends who have yet to sign up.
To Use: Simply enter the hyperlink provided and register on Carbon's website. The sign up process is identical to non-referred, but gives credit to the referrer. No extra steps are required, once the sign-up finishes, credit goes through. When you reach level 5, and again at level 10, your referrer receives further credit.
Ingame referral[]
To Give: Your referral is your username.
To Use: Redeem their referral code. You can redeem the codes in 2 ways:
Once you log into the forum. After logging in click "redeem it here", enter the code in the box and then click the "redeem" button.
In-game navigate to Social-> Referrals and enter the username of the player you want to refer in the top box, and then submit it.
NOTE:
You only get referral credit if it's redeemed by players below level 5.
The referral to level 5 reward is the only one able to be redeemed multiple times.
